WifiMeter Help

Why WifiMeter Live Wallpaper??

WiFiMeter was created for the fun of it. Remembering back to my Amateur Radio days when I was a boy, vacuum tubes are what I made my radios out of.
The UI is based on an old implementation of an electronic vacuum tube "tuning meter", the Magic Eye. The Magic Eye was widely used by most radio manufacturers of the early twentieth century. Corvidae Software is proud to offer this modern rendition of a classic radio tradition in a simple Material Design layout.
WiFiMeter Live Wallpaper is designed to run on all devices with a minimal footprint. Designed for older devices as well the latest Marshmallow and Nougat builds!

What do the numbers mean on the meter?

SSID

SSID is your network name. When you set up a wireless home network, it is given a name to distinguish it from other networks in your neighbourhood. You'll see this name when you connect your computer to your wireless network..

RSSI

RSSI (Recieved Signal Strength Indicator) is a common name for the signal strength in a wireless network environment. It is a measure of the power level that a RF client device is receiving from an access point (your wifi connection)

Link Speed

The current wifi connection link speed in Mbps.
NOTE: A higher value indicates a better connection speed.

Relative Value

Not a number, but the blue meter indicator. This is used primarily to give the user a quick idea of connection quality.
It is calculated using the Android API this way: WifiManager.calculateSignalLevel(int rssi, int numLevels)

Why no Ads?

  • They slow down the user experience
  • They cost internet bandwidth while downloading
  • They are annoying!
  • This app was created just for fun, so why spoil it?
